NOMINATION RULES

 African Symposium is a full-service event planning and management firm that produces socially responsible events in line with the United  Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our mission is to catalyze social  impact by raising the standard of Africa-focused events in business,  development, film, philanthropy and the Arts. We are dedicated to  producing high-level, targeted events that showcase the wealth of  opportunities that the continent has to offer. Please read these carefully.

Selection Requirements 

• An individual nominee must have been engaged in professional services or development work for the past five or more years, in a professional capacity; 
• An Organisation or Corporate Nominee must be actively engaged or have engaged in social or economic development work for at least five years; 
• An individual honouree must have a university degree and a professional qualification.
• An honouree shall be between the ages of 30 years and 59 years; 
• An honouree must not have been engaged in any criminal act or  convicted or found guilty of any unprofessional or unethical behaviour,   crime or corrupt practice(s) in any court of law, either at home or abroad;
• The winners must agree to take part in publicity generated by the organisers. 

General Rules

No institution may be nominated for more than one award on substantially the same basis. NAPA will discard entries for multiple awards that broadly replicate other entries. We reserve the right to move an entry to a different category from the category entered if the entry is better suited to that category.

If there are no qualified nominations in a particular category, NAPthe beforeA Awarding Board reserves the right to shortlist or nominate and further select a winner in that category.

All nominations must be submitted using the Online Nominating Form. Nominations and supporting materials must be received not later than two weeks to the particular event. Extensions to this date will be granted if the need be.

Nominations may be submitted either directly from an institution, from an involved individual, or from a third party. If a third party nominates an institution or individual, NAPA will contact the nominated company or individual and ask the nominee to review the nomination for accuracy and, if necessary, provide any missing documentation. If the company or individual fails to provide the required response by the specified date, the nomination will be excluded from the competition.

Each institutional nomination should include the nominated company’s logo. For screen quality, we require images of 300 dpi or above, in Illustrator or  Photoshop. These files can be emailed to awards@nationalprofessionalawards.com

Entries in the special categories, such as CEO, Entrepreneur, Promising CEO, or Entrepreneur of the Year sh, should be accompanied by a high-resolution colour photograph of the individual nominated. These files can be emailed to awards@nationalprofessionalawards.com

Supporting material may be required. Should you choose to send additional materials, please ensure they are supportive of the actual nomination.
